Regenerative Medicine

At Elite Foot & Ankle Associates, we offer advanced regenerative medicine treatments designed to support the body’s natural healing process and help patients recover from injuries, chronic pain, and degenerative conditions affecting the foot and ankle.

Regenerative medicine focuses on stimulating the body’s own repair mechanisms to promote tissue healing, reduce inflammation, and improve function. These treatments are often used for conditions that have not responded well to traditional therapies and may help patients avoid or delay surgery.

Common Conditions Treated

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Achilles tendinitis and tendinosis
  • Chronic ligament injuries
  • Arthritis of the foot and ankle
  • Tendon and soft tissue injuries

Regenerative Medicine Q&A

What is Regenerative Medicine?

Regenerative Medicine therapies involve an injection of concentrated growth factors from placental or amniotic tissue, or platelet-rich plasma that may regenerate and heal tissues in joints, muscles, tendons or ligaments.

What can Placental Therapy and Platelet Rich Plasma treat?

Chronic Joint pain like Osteoarthritis. This type of arthritis is common in feet and patients will often complain of joint stiffness, throbbing, and swelling. There is no cure for osteoarthritis, but regenerative medicine therapies such as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), and placental umbilical cord tissue injections are a new generation of treatments that have been proven to be safe, effective, and have lasting results. It can also be used for tendonitis, partial ruptures, neuromas, plantar fasciitis, sprains, etc.

How does Placental Therapy and PRP work?

  1. Placental cells
They are then injected at the time of the visit. They can provide growth factors that may assist in repair, reconstruction, and replacement of damaged tissue.
  2. PRP Cells
    – Isolation of cells or platelets
    – A blood draw is performed from your arm.
    – A high concentration of cells or platelets are separated by being centrifuged at high speeds with a specialized system
  3. Injection Process
The placental injections and PRP are then accurately injected into the injured tissue or affected site using ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance.

Why choose Regenerative Therapy?

  1. Reduce the need for major surgery.
    1. The need for surgery can be greatly reduced by treating injured tissues before the damage progresses. Because the goal of regenerative therapy is to heal injured tissue and not just mask the pain, it could prove to have lasting results.
  2. Steroids are harmful
    1. It has been proven that steroids are harmful to the body.
      1. While steroids help with pain and inflammation, they also:
        1. Weaken surrounding structures
        2. May lead to tendon ruptures
        3. Cause thinning of the fat pad
        4. Increase blood sugars
        5. Joint flares and infections
        6. Cartilage damage
