Regenerative Medicine

Regenerative Medicine therapies are performed in our clinic as an outpatient procedure. Regenerative therapies involve the use of products such as NS-Pure, Vitti-Pure, and WJ-Pure.

Regenerative Medicine Q&A

What is Regenerative Medicine?

Regenerative Medicine therapies involve an injection of concentrated growth factors from placental or amniotic tissue, or platelet-rich plasma to regenerate and heal tissues in joints, muscles, tendons or ligaments. Dr. Haynes uses these therapies to treat acute or chronic pain conditions related to degenerative disease.

What can Placental Therapy and Platelet Rich Plasma treat?

Chronic Joint pain like Osteoarthritis. This type of arthritis is common in feet and patients will often complain of joint stiffness, throbbing, and swelling. There is no cure for osteoarthritis, but regenerative medicine therapies such as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and bone marrow derived stem cell therapy are a new generation of treatments that have been proven to be safe, effective, and have lasting results.

What can Stem Cell Therapy and Platelet Rich Plasma treat?

Chronic Joint pain like Osteoarthritis. This type of arthritis is common in feet and patients will often complain of joint stiffness, throbbing, and swelling. Where Do Platelet Rich Plasma & Placental Cells Come From?

Placental Cells (NS-Pure, Vitti-Pure, and WJ-Pure)

NS-Pure
We use NS-Pure which is structural tissue harvested from human placental tissue that is minimally manipulated and manufactured under GTP, cGMP, AATB, and FDA HCT/P 361 guidelines. It is DMSO free and is absent of any harmful enzymes and chemicals.

This structural tissue is used for reconstruction, repair, and replacement. It uses the original relevant characteristics of structural tissues such as support, strength, flexibility, cushioning, covering, and compressibility.

Structural tissues may contain both extracellular matrix and cellular components because any alteration of these components that relates to the the structural tissue’s utility for reconstruction, repair, or replacement would be considered more than minimal manipulation.

NS-Pure is used for via injection for joint pain, plantar fasciitis, ligament and tendon pain, as well as for wound healing.

WJ-Pure
WJ-Pure is also an umbilical cord product that contains Wharton’s Jelly. This a thick substance that is natural from the cord and is very viscous and thick. WJ-Pure works great in the setting of joint pain.

Vitti-Pure
Similar to NS-Pure, Vitti-Pure is an umbilical cord product. Manufactured under the same standards. Vitti-Pure meets all FDA 361 guidelines. Vitti-pure is more like a PRP injection and can be used for the injections of tendons, ligaments, joints, and other painful conditions.

Platelet Rich Plasma

When your body is injured, its first natural response is to flood the area with growth factors that promote healing. These growth factors are released by platelets. They work to stimulate the healing process. Platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy optimizes the body’s healing process by placing a high concentration of platelets directly into the injured area.

To harvest PRP, a small sample of your blood is drawn into a specialized collecting system. This blood is centrifuged at high speeds to isolate the growth factors and platelets. Because your own blood is used, there is no risk of a transmissible infection, and a low risk of allergic reaction.

Where Do They Come From?

A high concentration of growth factors are found in placental tissues. These factors are derived from tissues acquired from living, healthy donors after full term pregnancy and a scheduled Caesarean section. These tissues are minimally processed and preserved to maintain the natural properties of the placental tissues. Stem cells taken from allograft tissues have the ability to be transferred into another human being.

Regenerative Therapy can reduce the need for major surgery, & has a quick healing process. No surgery means no hospital stay, no prolonged recovery, and regeneration happens over the next 2-6 weeks and can continue for up to 6 months.

How does Placental Therapy and PRP work?

  1. Placental cells
The products NS-Pure, Vitti-Pure, and WJ-Pure are ordered and stored frozen. They are then injected at the time of the visit. They provide growth factors that aid in repair, reconstruction, and replacement of damaged tissue. They actually heal the damaged tissue.
  2. PRP Cells
    – Isolation of cells or platelets
    – A blood draw is performed from your arm.
    – A high concentration of cells or platelets are separated by being centrifuged at high speeds with a specialized system
  3. Injection Process
The stem cells and PRP are then accurately injected into the injured tissue or affected site using ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance

Why choose Regenerative Therapy?

Reduce the need for Major Surgery

The need for surgery can be greatly reduced by treating injured tissues before the damage progresses. Because the goal of regenerative therapy is to heal injured tissue and not just mask the pain, it could prove to have lasting results.

Quick Healing

Many professionals and athletes have undergone regenerative therapy to help them heal more rapidly from an injury and get back to full activity. Regenerative medicine procedures are ideal for individuals who face ailments such as: patellar tendon injury, plantar fasciitis, and Achilles tendon injury and want to get back to being active ASAP.

Placental/Amniotic Injections can treat a wide variety of conditions including, but not limited to:

  • Achilles Tendonitis
  • Achilles Tears
  • Ankle and Foot Arthritis
  • Ankle Sprains
  • Arthritis
  • Cartilage Defects
  • Fractures
  • Phantom Limb Pain
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Tendonitis

PRP Therapy is used for a variety of conditions:

  • Arthritis of the Joints
  • Foot and Ankle Pain
  • Ligament, Cartilage, and Tendon Injuries
