DPMx™ Regenerative Therapy
At Elite Foot & Ankle Associates, we offer DPMx™ regenerative therapy, an advanced biologic treatment designed to support healing and restore damaged tissues in the foot and ankle.
DPMx™ is a human birth tissue allograft derived from the umbilical cord. It is processed to preserve the natural structural components of the tissue that help support healing and cushioning.
Umbilical cord tissue contains naturally occurring extracellular matrix components such as:
- Elastin
- Hyaluronan
- Connective tissue proteins
- Glycosaminoglycans
These components help support tissue repair and structural integrity.
When placed at the site of injury, these biologic materials work with the body’s natural healing processes to help reduce inflammation, support tissue regeneration, and improve overall function.
How DPMx™ Works
DPMx therapy supplements damaged or weakened tissues by providing biologic structural support and signaling molecules that stimulate the body’s natural repair response.
This regenerative approach helps improve the ability of tissues to withstand stress and may restore cushioning in areas where tissue loss or degeneration has occurred.
Conditions That May Benefit
DPMx regenerative therapy may be used for:
- Chronic plantar fasciitis
- Heel pain
- Achilles tendonitis
- Ligament sprains
- Soft tissue injuries
- Arthritis-related foot and ankle pain
- Fat pad atrophy
- Chronic inflammation not responding to traditional treatments
Benefits of DPMx™ Therapy
Patients often choose DPMx because it offers a minimally invasive regenerative approach that may:
- Support the body’s natural healing process
- Reduce inflammation and chronic pain
- Restore cushioning and structural support
- Improve tissue strength and mobility
- Provide a non-surgical treatment option
DPMx therapy is typically performed in-office using a targeted injection technique to deliver the biologic material directly to the affected area.
Many patients return to normal activities shortly after treatment.
DPMx™ vs Cortisone Injections
The goal of DPMx therapy is to repair, replace, and restore damaged tissue.
Cortisone injections may temporarily reduce pain but do not repair damaged tissue. Repeated steroid injections may also contribute to tissue breakdown over time.
DPMx therapy focuses on supporting healing and strengthening the tissue at the source of the problem.
Insurance Coverage
Like many regenerative treatments, DPMx therapy is typically not covered by insurance.
However, many patients choose this option because it focuses on healing damaged tissue rather than simply masking symptoms.
