At Elite Foot & Ankle Associates, when possible, we try to offer our patients a minimally invasive option in regards to surgery. True minimally invasive surgery of the foot offers correction of the problem, pain relief, and no hardware. Yes, that’s right, no hardware!
We perform bunion surgery, hammertoe surgery, plantar fasciitis surgery, heel spur surgery, Morton’s neuroma surgery, and others. Our technique is not new and in fact, it has been used by surgeons for decades. Dr. Haynes has trained from some of the best podiatrists and orthopedists from the U.S. and around the world. He has worked with doctors from Spain, Mexico, Germany, Morocco, and Canada to learn the techniques to offer minimally invasive surgery to his patients.
When we talk minimally invasive, we mean, small stabs in the skin (not incisions), no sutures (most of the time), no hospitals (we have our own surgical suite), no general anesthesia, you can walk right away, less pain medication, faster recovery time. We haven’t even started discussing how much more affordable minimally invasive surgery is because we aren’t paying to use the hospital operating room and we are not paying for a radiologist or anesthesiologist.
Dr. Haynes performs what is called a Reverdin-Isham bunionectomy to correct mild to moderate bunions. Not all bunions are able to be corrected this way. For hammertoes, Dr. Haynes makes small cuts in the bone in order to help lay the toe back down flat. Without hardware, the toe looks much more natural vs. implants which leave the toe stiff and almost too straight.Â
Minimally invasive surgery is the way surgery was meant to be, better for the patient and safer for the patient. If you are interested in our “No hardware minimally invasive surgery” call us today at (503) 668-5210.
While Dr. Haynes, Dr. Williams, and Dr. Belnap all perform minimally invasive surgery, not all doctors perform the same procedures and/or use the same techniques.Â
