Benefits of a Balance Brace Are you over 65 years old? Have you fallen in the past year? Do you have neuropathy? Do you have ankle instability or weakness? What about dizziness, history of stroke?

Did you know that 3/10 seniors will fall this year? Or, that 50% of Seniors that fall will have another fall next year? Or, that approximately 50% of Seniors that fall will decrease their activity due to fear from falling again?

If you answered yes to any of our first questions, then you shouldnโ€™t be surprised by the second set of questions.

If you have experienced a fall or feel unstable then you should know that most insurances including Medicare and Medicaid cover a balance brace. Here at Elite we take falls seriously, in 2007 over 18,000 seniors died due to fall related injuries. Thatโ€™s why we can fit and measure you for a custom fit Moore Balance Brace.

The Moore Balance Brace, is used to treat conditions associated with risk factors for falls. It is a part of a long term solution to be used in combination with a Fall Prevention Strength Training Program, which may include physical and occupational therapy, environmental changes in the home and review of current medications.

The Moore Balance Brace is the only brace proven to eliminate postural sway and improve postural stability. It is a prescribed, custom ankle-foot orthosis (AFO) that is worn as a pair and easily fit into shoes. The brace stabilizes the foot in the presence of weakness and fatigue. It helps to stimulate skin receptors providing feedback to the brain. It also provides ankle support, and by reducing postural sway, helps avoid falls. It improves foot clearance, reducing the risk of tripping. They are easy to put on and remove and are exceptionally light weight.

Itโ€™s important to note that the balance braces help prevent falls only when coupled with good fitting shoes and proper exercise and strength training.
